Group Meeting 4

Community Manager
11/29/2023

Our recent TikTok LIVE program cohort meeting focused on two key aspects of successful live streaming: maintaining a safe and inclusive environment and engaging your audience effectively. Here's a summary of the key takeaways:

Creating a Safe and Inclusive Space

  • Mindful Language: Avoid using offensive or discriminatory language, including cursing and derogatory terms targeting specific groups of people. TikTok's auto-moderation system can flag such language and lead to bans.

    • In gaming be mindful of the things you can say in the heat of battle or another player's username that may be derogatory. Remember you're responsible for what's said on your stream.

  • LGBTQ+ Sensitivity: Refrain from using terms like "gay" in a derogatory manner, even if not intended as an insult. Auto-moderation may still flag it, resulting in a ban. Until TikTok refines its language detection, consider using "LGBTQ+" instead.
